Motorised microwelding

Tecsal manufactures a motorised microwelding machine with in-house parallel electrodes.

The microwelding machine is equipped with numerically controlled movement and weld weight detection by means of a load cell. The sensitivity is 0.001 kg.

The micro-welder is designed and built to perform welds that require high precision and absolute process repeatability, such as the wire welding shown in the video.

Pneumatic microwelding

Tecsal manufactures a pneumatic micro-welding machine with in-house parallel electrodes.

The micro-welding machine is equipped with controlled pneumatic movement. Depending on the cylinder configuration, a force ranging from 5 kg to 80 kg can be achieved.

The micro-welder is designed and built to perform welds that require high precision and absolute process repeatability, such as the welding of battery packs shown in the video.

Automated machinery - Loading process

The video shows the initial part of a line for forming grills/grids with dimensions ranging from 380×380 to 1000×1000 mm.

This unit allows loading a container of pre-cut and straightened items with an autonomy of about 16 hours.

It is possible to replace the container while the machine is in automatic cycle without having to stop it.

By means of a jack system, the container is automatically lifted and tilted to facilitate the unloading of the items towards the separator.

Tecsal designs and manufactures customised machinery, both traditional line and robotic islands, for various types of production.

Automated machinery - Separating Unit and Ring Forming and Welding Unit

The unit consists of 2 parts:

  • Separating unit:
The separating unit allows, by means of a conveyor belt system, to convey the aligned blanks towards the singling wheels. The wheels will deposit a single item in the P&P pick-up position.
  • Ring forming and welding unit:
The ring forming and welding unit (visible from minute 0:22) is equipped with two bending heads mounted on opposing moving axes. Both the bending heads and the moving axes are numerically controlled. In the second part of this unit there is a retractable head welder, to make the joint of the still-open ring.

Tecsal designs and manufactures customised systems, both traditional line and robotic island, for various types of manufacturing.

Automated machinery - Embossing unit

This embossing unit, thanks to 2 hydraulic presses, makes it possible to carry out a deformation on the wire forming the ring.

The group consists of 2 opposing presses which, by replacing the plates, allow different deformations to be carried out.

Tecsal designs and manufactures customised machinery, both traditional line and robotic islands, for various types of manufacturing.

Automated machinery - cross welding unit

The video shows a cross welding unit. In this station, the machine is able to load, position and weld the correct number of crossbeams within the formed ring.

The welding is done by means of two opposing head welders.

Tecsal designs and manufactures tailor-made systems, both traditional line and robotic island, for various types of manufacturing.

Automated machinery - Cross wire loading and welding station

This station allows the correct number of wires to be extracted from the wire loading tank by means of a tear-off loader, which has specific tear-off combs for each group of grids; it then allows the wires to be deposited on the pre-assembly template by means of a Pick&Place.

Two wire loading tanks are provided: the first will contain the wires that will make up the grid, while in the second it is possible to place the wires that will later enable the hook to be formed for painting.

The second part of the station consists of a mobile table with a controlled axis on which the welding template is installed.

This is used to position the grid to be assembled under the 8 welding heads, at the preset programmed height.

The jig is moved by a numerically controlled axis.

Tecsal designs and manufactures customised systems, both traditional line and robotic islands, for various types of manufacturing.

Automated machinery - trimming station

The two opposing trimming stations allow the excess cross wires remaining after the welding phase to be trimmed using a hydraulic shear.

Tecsal designs and manufactures customised machinery, both traditional line and robotic islands, for various types of manufacturing.

For more information:

Automated machinery- straightening station

The straightening station allows, through the use of pneumatic cylinders, bending in the opposite direction of the grid, thus straightening it for subsequent processing.

Tecsal designs and manufactures customised machinery, both traditional line and robotic islands, for various types of processing.

Automated machinery - Forming, loading and reinforcement welding station

This station consists of 3 parts:

  • Reinforcement forming
In this part of the station, grid reinforcement forming takes place, thanks to 3 hydraulic cylinders.
  • Reinforcement loading
By means of a P&P the reinforcement is brought from the forming station to the welding station.
  • Welding station
This station consists of 3 parts:

    • the first is a moving table on which the template (specific to each group of grids) is mounted,
    • the second is a welding machine with 8 welding cylinders that allows welding of the reinforcement,
    • the third is an additional welding machine that allows the foot to be welded.

Depending on the type of accessory, either one or the other welding machine will be used.

Tecsal designs and manufactures customised systems, both traditional line and robotic islands, for various types of manufacturing.

Automated machinery - Bracket Welding

The bracket forming and welding station allows you to:

  • pull out a single iron bracket by means of a pull-out loader,
  • form it through use of pneumatic cylinders
  • position it and assemble it through grid welding.

From idea to solution: automated line for beekeeping

Automated line for automatic drilling and stitching of beehive frames of various sizes.

The automated island is equipped with a loader with 8 hours of autonomy, a 10-head drilling machine, a stitching station and a palletising station.

The robot, equipped with a double gripper, loads the frame from the drilling station to the stitching station.

By changing the gripper, the robot picks up a needle with the thread head inside, and thanks to the 3 hand-mounted pliers, sews the frame.

Next, two industrial sewing machines staple the thread at the first end, the second end will be stretched and then stapled.

After the excess thread is removed, the robot will palletise the looms.

Tecsal can design entirely customised systems, even starting from the idea, i.e. the final product to be manufactured, as in this case beehive frames.
