Capacitive discharge welding and its applications

Capacitive discharge welding allows stud welding and metal inserts to be welded to various types of materials, such as iron, aluminium, brass and stainless steel.

It is also referred to as condenser discharge welding, because it utilises the energy voltage stored in a condenser battery, which is discharged onto the stud in the area where the two materials are joined.

Capacitive discharge welding can be manual, through the use of capacitor discharge welders, or automatic, with the incorporation of capacitor discharge welders into robotic capacitive discharge welding systems.
The use of automated systems has several advantages:
